Calibration verification and controls
AUDIT MicroControls linearity materials verify calibration across the whole measuring range. For daily quality control, the range includes controls for clinical chemistry, immunoassays, HbA1c and cardiac markers, among others.
Products
AUDIT MicroControls is a US manufacturer of quality control materials, founded in 2002. The legal manufacturer of the products is the parent company Aalto Scientific, which holds ISO 13485:2016 certification.
A linearity set usually has five levels with concentrations equally spaced across the measuring range. Daily controls have one to three levels. The materials are lyophilised, ready-to-use liquids or frozen liquids.

General chemistry linearity sets
Five-level sets for calibration and reportable range verification: a general set for 29 analytes, plus general chemistry and bilirubin sets for Roche analysers.
Clinical chemistry control
Lyophilised human serum control for 32 analytes, levels 1 and 2 in separate packs. Stable for 14 days once reconstituted.
Urine chemistry controlLyophilised control for 14 urine analytes in two vial sets, levels 1 and 2. Includes microalbumin and osmolality.
Immunoassay controlLyophilised three-level control for 17 analytes: thyroid tests, reproductive hormones, ferritin, folate, vitamin B12, cortisol and digoxin.
HbA1c controlsHuman blood based HbA1c controls, two levels. The liquid control is stable for 50 days after opening; the lyophilised one is reconstituted with 0.5 ml.
Cardiac marker controlsLyophilised controls for troponin I, CK-MB and myoglobin (3 levels) and for BNP and NT-proBNP (2 levels).
Procalcitonin controlLyophilised two-level control for procalcitonin assays. Stable for 7 days once reconstituted.
TDM controlLyophilised three-level control for measuring the concentrations of 12 drugs. Stable for 30 days once reconstituted.
CRP controlsReady-to-use liquid controls for CRP and rheumatoid factor (3 levels) and high-sensitivity CRP (2 levels). Stable for 30 days after opening.
Vitamin D controlFrozen liquid two-level control for vitamin D assays. Stable for 30 days at +2…+8 °C once thawed.

Can a linearity set be used for calibration?
No. According to the AUDIT package inserts, the set is not for calibration or standardisation but for calibration verification and linearity assessment.
How long is an opened vial stable?
Stability varies by product and analyte. The general chemistry linearity set is stable for 7 days once reconstituted (phosphate 24 hours), and the liquid HbA1c control for 50 days after opening at +2…+8 °C. An unopened vial is stable until the expiry date.
Are the products CE marked?
Yes. The AUDIT products presented on this site are CE marked for in vitro diagnostic use, and their package inserts name MDSS GmbH as the EU authorised representative.
