CoaguSense, Inc. is a Californian manufacturer founded in 2008 and part of the Korean i-SENS group since 2016. The company makes IVD products for coagulation testing, and its quality management system is certified to ISO 13485:2016 and MDSAP.

Is the meter suitable for monitoring patients on DOACs?
No. The Coag-Sense PT2 is intended for monitoring warfarin-type therapy. It is not used to monitor patients receiving heparin or direct anticoagulants (factor Xa and thrombin inhibitors).
Can the sample be taken from a vein?
No. Only fresh capillary blood from the fingertip, 10–12 µl, is used for the measurement.
Does the meter need calibration or maintenance?
According to the manufacturer, no. The meter checks itself at start-up and for each strip, and the strip lot data are read from an NFC tag. Low and high controls are run for each new strip lot.
Can patients measure their INR at home?
Not with this meter in Finland. According to the manufacturer, the home testing version of the PT2 is not available in Europe.
