What waste does Envomed 80 treat?
Sharps and infectious waste. The unit is not intended for pathological, radioactive or pharmaceutical waste.
Where does the treated waste go?
According to the manufacturer, the liquid can be discharged to the drain and the shredded solid fraction disposed of with municipal waste. Local regulations and the validation tests they require must be taken into account.
How is treatment efficacy verified?
The manufacturer states a treatment efficacy of STAATT level IV, i.e. a 6-log reduction. Biological and chemical indicators are available for regular validation testing.
