How 12238 works

FlashCheck 12238 monitors the temperature of vaccines and liquids in refrigerators, freezers and refrigerated display cabinets. The external stainless steel probe is in a sealed propylene glycol bottle, so when the door is opened, the rapid change in air temperature does not show in the reading or cause false alarms.

The large display shows the current temperature and the lowest and highest readings. When the upper or lower limit is exceeded, the thermometer gives an alarm with a beep and a flashing red light, and a delay can be set for the alarm. The settings are retained during a battery change.

Model 12238 is supplied with the manufacturer's certificate of conformity and 12238-02 with a two-year ISO 17025 calibration certificate (A2LA). A one-year NIST calibration certificate is also available.

Probe in a glycol bottle

The probe is in a sealed 5 ml buffer bottle containing propylene glycol (GRAS). The glycol mimics the temperature of liquids stored in the refrigerator or freezer, so opening the door does not cause a sudden change in the reading or trigger an alarm.

The vaccines are on the middle shelf, the temperature sensor is in a buffer bottle among the vaccines, the display is outside the refrigerator, and there are no vaccines on the door shelves.+4.6 °CDisplay outsidethe refrigeratorSensor in a buffer bottleamong the vaccinesVaccines on the middle shelfaway from the back wallNot in the door
