Why D-3-hydroxybutyrate
Conventional nitroprusside strips are semi-quantitative and detect only acetone and acetoacetate. Randox Ranbut measures D-3-hydroxybutyrate, the main product of ketogenesis, which accounts for about 75% of ketone bodies.
In addition to the reagents, the kit contains a calibrator. Controls and instrument-specific applications are available separately.
