How the slides work
Colorimetric slides have a spreading layer, a reagent layer and a transparent support. The slide is incubated at 37 °C; enzymes are measured with a kinetic method and general chemistry with an end-point method. The Na-K-Cl slide has three ion-selective electrodes and is measured together with a reference fluid (Reference Fluid RE).
Each pack contains a QC card that corrects lot-to-lot differences, so no separate calibration is needed. Quality control uses the QP-H and QP-L controls, and QE for electrolytes.
