Toisin kuin perinteiset nitroprussidimenetelmät, jotka ovat puolikvantitatiivisia ja tunnistavat vain asetonin ja asetoasetaatin, Randoxin menetelmä on herkempi ja tarkempi, erityisesti ketogeneesin aikana runsaasti tuotettavan D-3-hydroksibutyraatin osalta.

Testin korrelaatio on poikkeuksellinen, saavuttaen 0.9954 korrelaatiokertoimen verrattuna muihin markkinoilla oleviin menetelmiin. Randoxin Ranbut-testi tarjoaa myös erinomaista tarkkuutta, alle 3,5 % virhemarginaalilla.
